Check Your Attitude

Hey Reader,

We all have daily tasks—sorry, chores—that we just have to do.
They are a must.
We can’t get out of doing them.

That might be taking out the trash in your household.
Those tasks also exist in our businesses.

Things that we just have to do.

You probably have tasks that you love to do.
I actually love to write these newsletters.
If I could, I would send you a lot more—just because it’s fun.

In this newsletter, I will try to help us shift our mindset:
That the have-to-dos will become get-to-dos.

You don’t need to love them, but you need to be happy that you get to do them.

Let’s turn our annoying chores into cheerful habits.
With that change, here are three effects:

  1. Your clients will feel the difference.
  2. Your kids will see the difference.
  3. Your wife loves the difference.

These three will have a lasting impact as a result.

You are living a better testimony and you will receive a better testimonial.

This will change your life.

All it takes is to turn annoying chores into cheerful habits.
It’s a mindset shift.

You need to accept that you need to do them—
but think of it like this:

You get to serve your clients, your kids, and your wife.

Put off the arrogance of thinking it’s beneath you
and put on the humility of doing it as a service to others.

  • Your clients will enjoy working with you.
  • Your kids will model after you and do it too.
  • Your wife will love enjoying your help more.

These are all things influenced by your decision.

Keep chopping Wood!

Your Jowi

When I was growing up, I started to dream about my life. One idea that I also pursued was that I wanted to have a family. I knew that I wanted to get married and have kids.I wanted to provide for them and I wanted to spend my time with them. As I got older, reality started to settle in. What I was studying would maybe make some money. It would get us food on the table, but not much more. Maybe if I settled for a career in the field, a company would pay enough at some point. When I met my wife,…

  • Why I’m Not Rushing My Business

One thing I’m struggling a lot with is patience. I enjoy business, and in business we are always concerned with growth. We want to believe there’s a way to get rich fast. That’s why the scammers have it so easy to sell us on the latest get-rich-quicker thing. While I do believe there are better vehicles out there to grow faster, speed is only one side of pursuing a business. I’m now almost 4 years into my journey. Over those years, I have seen so many people come and go. They grew quickly—And…

  • 400+ Uploads to YouTube Taught Me This

Six years ago I wanted to start my company. I was all focused on building out my product, because surely when I post about it on YouTube, people will come in millions. Call it naive or unprepared — that was my idea. Becoming a YouTuber is easy. Just post a video and people will line up. The first few videos were pretty fun. I enjoyed filming. Then I thought people would listen. It was fun. And then came the upload. I clicked on publish… And now I was going to be a famous YouTuber. What I…

  • SEO has changed forever

In the last three years we have seen many shifts in SEO. What used to be a debate between white hat and black hat, SEO is now a more fundamental question. Since the entry of ChatGPT on the stage, there is a major shift happening. Many folks try to hold onto the good old times — when you could win with 100 blog posts and that was your whole marketing strategy. This landscape has shifted. I have been part of the blogging community for a while, and it was scary to see the results of this change….

  • It’s Not About the Money

When you’re scrolling through X/Threads, it seems like it’s all about wealth. The business community is all about generating more wealth. Yesterday I was thinking about the three eternal wants:Wealth, health, and relationships. I was trying to figure out what connection they have. They seem easy to chase in loops. They link to each other on many levels. This morning a thought struck: Often we think of them as goals. We want more wealth, better health, and better relationships. Yet the moment…

  • Strive for Excellence not Perfection

Strive for Excellence not Perfection How often do we freeze up and can’t go forward, because something we have created isn’t good enough – isn’t perfect? Way too often. I have spent so many hours trying to perfect something. Our goal is often completion, or perfection. Reaching the 100%. It seems like it is always escaping us. I want to challenge the idea of perfection. We should strive for excellence. Doing something not for 100% perfection, but rather to a 90% excellence. Perfection keeps…
