Focus on Strategy, Not Tactics

The other day I read another post that I thought was interesting.
The guy said he ran a test: after 800 days of posting daily, he focused on quality over quantity, and then only posted 2 times per week.
His point was that too many are only posting daily, but they should do better content.

This was setting me riled up.
It was a good example of doing what he did, not doing what he said.
He got to the many views by posting daily.
So that’s the strategy: Post daily.

It will give you data, skill, and experience.
Yes, he sees advising to post less and get better.
But this is assuming that person has data.
How do you get better? By doing more.

How do you know if something was good? By having more data.
2 posts per week means 100 posts per year.
I could also have that data in 100 days.
Which means it took me only less than a third of the time to get the same data.

In the beginning there is only one way to grow and that’s massive action.
You can’t get around that.
It’s the only thing that counts.

That’s when I also stack up the work.
I’m building my systems on the back end of massive action.
I need enough data to know where I can go.

This is the hard part of growing a business.
It’s a skill-based game.
The better you are, the more clients you can serve, the more money you can make.

The only way to get there is by doing more to get better.
It’s that simple.

Yet it’s too hard for most to sustain.
They are looking for an easy way out.

I used to think shortcuts don’t actually exist. I was wrong. In online games, there are shortcuts. I was mostly playing free-to-play games. They had however one specific element that free-to-play games live on:a balance to pay-to-win games. There was always a slight shift.A game started as free-to-play.Over time, they started introducing more and more extrasthat you would need to pay for. • Share the Scars, Not the Wounds

When we often talk about authenticity, we often have different understandings of what that actually means. Over the last year, I have seen a trend come up. The trend has me worried. Authenticity is understood as showing all your emotion, being real in the moment. This does not build trust. It does not show a good manner. Every day has its ups and downs. Yet we don’t need to start with or share all that. There is another way to show your authenticity —that actually creates more trust and is…

Hey Reader, Today almost everything is immediate. You go onto Amazon and have something someday delivering. The longest you need to wait is maybe two days. And that already feels like forever. When we’re starting a business we also expect immediate results.People hop in to buy our products. The reality is hitting hard in the face when nobody shows up.Life doesn’t happen immediate. Most things worthwhile take time. You won’t put a seed in the ground to have the harvest tomorrow. It takes a few…

  • Clock Building, Not Time Telling

All fathers I know want to leave their kids better off. They think about the legacy they leave behind. Many of those fathers think about starting a business. That’s what I also started out with. To this day I think the best way to start a business is with a service — something that you can coach or build for your clients. There is only one detail: This is all skill-based. You need to learn the skills. That is also why service is a good place to start. The hidden danger is that you become a…

  • Are you present or just around?

Being a dad is more than bringing a paycheck home. It’s more than paying all the bills on time. You are actually the leader, caretaker, and playmate too. You can teach your kids many lessons. They learn how to have fun while also living out their strength. There is a requirement to all of this: You need to be present. You can’t be absent. It’s not just physically being in the room but also showing your full attention and focus. This is the first side of the Present Provider. When it’s family…

  • The Nr. 1 Trait to set you apart.

Hey Reader, There is one word that keeps popping up right now. Integrity. With all the AI tools coming out, with social media and online businesses, there are people that just see the quick money. They do anything to put people to buy. The last few years, I’m in a chat that we have entered the attention economy. I’m expecting that the next few years we will be in the trust economy. You have to be trustworthy. Don’t use trust for your benefit! I believe integrity will be a major part of this….
