Move faster forward.

Hey Reader,

The number one differentiation in business is the speed of your movement.

How fast you can act on any idea.

This is challenging, especially when you’re just starting out.

It feels like there is so much you need to learn.

The reality is that business always feels a bit overwhelming because there are constantly new problems to figure out.

You just learn to cope with challenges better.

One big step forward is the process to learn anything quickly so that you can move forward quickly.

There are five steps to any learning cycle to really become a quick learner:

  1. Problem description:
The deeper your understanding of the problem, the better you can actually work on the solution.
  2. Set clear objectives:
With a deep understanding of the problem, you now need to be clear on what needs to be solved. What are the key objectives?
  3. Keep it short:
Now it’s time to do your research. Figure out what you need.
Put your plan of action together.
The most important part:Don’t get stuck in research mode.
  4. Focus on skills:
    Taking action requires skills.
Learning the right skills is going to make you stronger for future problems.
    So learn the right skills.
  5. Take action:
Now put your plan into action and solve your problem.
This is the fastest way to learn.

Rinse and repeat.

Keep moving forward, brother!

Your Jowi

Hey Reader, Every day I get DMs by people pitching me their service. I’m not a big fan of cold DMs or cold outreach, but there is an even bigger problem ahead. There is another inflation going around. Next to the financial inflation, there is also the offer inflation. I do enjoy most of the content by Alex Hormozi and I have both his books. There is a side effect of the $100M Offers book. Many juniors are starting out and create an offer that is “irresistible.” I agree with Alex Hormozi to…

  • Start your One-Dad Business

Start your One-Dad Business For every business to be successful there are three parts that need to happen: You need to help one person. You need to offer them one solution. You need to be able to actually deliver the solution to solve the problem. Only then people will be willing to pay for your solution. In essence: Every business needs to serve a purpose for our community. To get you started, we need to answer these three questions: Who do you want to help (One Person)? What Problem does…

  • The truth about the easy life.

Hey Reader, Last night was rough. Our son woke us up in the night.Which happens to all parents, I know. He cried. He was hungry, so we gave him a bottle of milk. Just when I was about to fall asleep again, he cried again. At some point, he fell asleep again.I didn’t… My mind was wandering around. How nice would it be to have an easy life? Sleeping through the night. Sitting up rested. No commitments during the day. Just whatever I want to do. Do you also wish for an easy life sometimes? It…

  • The moment I realized I can’t do it all

When I was in University, I did everything. I was studying, volunteering, working, hanging out with friends. I also picked up some hobbies, like hunting, fishing and visiting reenactments. All of those things were time consuming. Maybe you know the feeling of:you can do everything when you’re on the top of the world. I really liked to be the Jack of all Trades. I saw a lot of people becoming experts, yet I stayed a generalist. It is said that Warren Buffet gave this advice once:Write out all…

  • Moving Faster by Slowing Down

I often have the urge to do more.To find more things to do and try to speed things up. Patience is important. It’s not something that comes natural to me.I want to have a thought become reality ASAP. As a result, I have the tendency to lean into the hustle. It’s an urge I need to fight actively. Sometimes it’s faster to slow down. Analyze. Observe. Think. Plan. Then take a step forward that actually makes a difference. The real power is to do only things that matter.Ignore tasks that just run…

  • A side hustle won’t save you!

Hey Reader, When I look around, most men want to start a side hustle to get the business off the ground. I love the idea and motivation they have—to provide for their family and spend more time with them. There is only one flaw on that side:They plan for a side hustle, not for an exit strategy. The numbers tell the difference. Most people starting a side hustle are happy about any money they can make. They start to offer low-price digital products:A template for $20 or an ebook for $8. While…
