The Nr. 1 Trait to set you apart.

Hey Reader,

There is one word that keeps popping up right now.

Integrity.

With all the AI tools coming out, with social media and online businesses, there are people that just see the quick money. They do anything to put people to buy.

The last few years, I’m in a chat that we have entered the attention economy.
I’m expecting that the next few years we will be in the trust economy.

You have to be trustworthy. Don’t use trust for your benefit!

I believe integrity will be a major part of this. Integrity has been important in the past, too, but there is an important difference.

Key: You could do something in one city and then move.

The word of your actions could travel a lot slower.

Today, with social media and the internet, word travels at the speed of light.

The most important thing going forward is to protect your trustworthiness.

This way, your reputation stays high.

The best way is to keep your integrity high.

When you take a stand for something (Values) then speak about them (Words) and then actually do what you said (Action), you are showing your integrity.

This will only build up your reputation.

We often talk about business as a game. There is a big difference in trying to game the game or playing to stay part of the game long-term.

Too many people mix those two.

You can’t win in business alone. So better play the game to the point that others enjoy playing with you.

If you don’t, you’ll be losing.

High integrity will be a huge benefit for you going forward—even when it doesn’t feel like that yet.

Keep moving forward, brother!

Your Jowi

Most kids don’t remember what you did. They do remember that you were there. Life is hard today. We have many priorities pulling on us. We have many responsibilities pulling us away from our family. Today most couples need to both get jobs. The pay in the jobs went down and financing requires both incomes to make a living. When I was growing up, I was fortunate enough for my dad to have a job that would allow us to live with one income only. My mother could stay at home.Focus all her…

  • Work for Respect, Not Status

There is a massive difference between respect and status. There’s this good ol’ book — Rich Dad, Poor Dad.It was one of my first books I read about business. It introduced me to the idea that: There is a difference between rich and poor that goes beyond money. Over the years, this idea has become more and more nuanced. There are “rich” people that don’t have money, and there are “poor” people that have money. When I started out, I thought: Status = Success = the Wealth Generated. But I learned…

  • The Spiral of Salaries

Hey Reader, Right now we feel the pressure. Many economies seem to struggle. There are many news reports about prices going up. A friend of mine said the math for January:Over the last five years, prices have risen by 30–60%. Even for singles—more for families with kids. Yet the economy is still feeling the pressure. The big danger is still ahead. Because in Germany there are a lot of people asking for a raise. They want to earn more. I fully understand this. People speak up to raise the…

  • Are you present or just around?

Being a dad is more than bringing a paycheck home. It’s more than paying all the bills on time. You are actually the leader, caretaker, and playmate too. You can teach your kids many lessons. They learn how to have fun while also living out their strength. There is a requirement to all of this: You need to be present. You can’t be absent. It’s not just physically being in the room but also showing your full attention and focus. This is the first side of the Present Provider. When it’s family…

  • Be Relentless, Not Reckless

Starting a business is hard.It takes a lot to actually make it work.Building a business — like everything in life — has a price. I am all for doing a lot and being ambitious.Yet, I see a lot of founders/entrepreneurs being reckless. They break a lot of trust while they are not even getting started. There is a big difference between being relentless and being reckless: Reckless is uncontrolled and not directed. Relentless is about being controlled and knowing where you want to go. You can show…

  • A side hustle won’t save you!

Hey Reader, When I look around, most men want to start a side hustle to get the business off the ground. I love the idea and motivation they have—to provide for their family and spend more time with them. There is only one flaw on that side:They plan for a side hustle, not for an exit strategy. The numbers tell the difference. Most people starting a side hustle are happy about any money they can make. They start to offer low-price digital products:A template for $20 or an ebook for $8. While…
