Hey Reader,
Since I started with developing businesses about 8 years ago now, I have seen many people come and go. I have also tried many products, many angles, many ideas.
Most of them have failed. That’s the truth for most businesses.
Most of the ideas don’t work out.
There is one question that repeats itself over and over again. The harder the time is: Do I stick with it or do I pivot?
It’s a loaded question. You love your idea. You poured many hours in trying to get a move on it. Trying to get it to work.
The voice in your brain says: Stick with it a little longer. You are so close to get it to work. It would be silly to pivot now.
Then there is the other side. It’s telling you that there is a better opportunity. That you’ve wasted long enough and it’s not going to work out. It would be silly to stick with it.
I have experienced this back and forth for all these years.
The truth is that there is no right answer until you make the decision.
When you make a decision, you may never turn back. You need to commit 100% of effort and commitment to it.
I have a few tips to help you decide:
- Check your reasons for following the idea.
- Is it too hard so you want to quit?
- Do you have FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) for another idea?
If yes — you need to stick with it for longer.
- Have you tried everything?
- Have you lost your fire for the idea?
- Are you unable to learn the skills required to make it work?
- Is the amount of work required too long for your time left?
If you said yes to those — then it’s fine to pivot.
These are just some helping ideas.
See ya tomorrow!
Your Jowi
